Registered Nurse Coordinator Post Transplant

Position Summary: This position supports the mission of Presbyterian/St Luke’s Medical Center of optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. The transplant coordinator oversees and directs the care of the transplant patient. The transplant coordinator is responsible for the care of pre-transplant and post transplant patients in a clinical setting. Serves as primary nurse leading the collaboration of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Oversees and directs the care of assistive personnel, maintaining final accountability for the care given to assigned patients. This position requires a 24/7 rotating call schedule. When need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

II. Position Requirements:

A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate Registered Nurse license; BLS – Healthcare provider. CCTN or CCTC preferred.

B. Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN or BS, or Masters degree preferred.

C. Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience preferred.

D. Special Qualifications: Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health care team members. Ability to manage a team and work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care. Ability to successfully complete 9 to 12 week orientation period. Strong critical thinking skills.
