RN - Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU


As a RN - Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU, your voice to influence patient care is valued and empowered at every turn –whether through open, collaborative relationships with your direct manager or more formal opportunities through hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. You'll help shape decisions that elevate both patient outcomes and the future of nursing.

Job Summary and Qualification

  • Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on the critically ill patient with Congenital Heart Disease and/or Surgery.
  • Organize, implement, modify, evaluate, document and maintain the plan of care. This plan will be individualized, family centered, and holistic.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Participate in CHSU initiatives and process improvement.
  • Maintain high-quality age specific care for the neonatal, pediatric, adolescent and young adult population.
  • Support the mission, vision and values of the organization
  • Apply scientific knowledge; use a variety of equipment; and perform multiple technical procedures.
  • Proactively advocate for patients and consistency educate patients/family throughout the continuum of care.
  • Utilize ability to demonstrate and apply the technical, critical thinking and interpersonal skills

What qualifications you will need:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
  • (RN) Registered Nurse
  • Associate Degree
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
  • If hired after 6/1/12, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position.
  • Congenital Heart Experience and/or high-acuity PICU medical-surgical experience preferred.
