100% FTE salaried position. The scheduled shifts are primarily Monday-Friday day shifts. Hours may vary based on the needs of the department. You will work on-site primarily at University Hospital located in Madison, WI.

We are seeking a passionate MSN prepared Registered Nurse (RN) to provide clinical expertise and support to critical care nursing staff at our level one trauma center located in Madison, WI.

Areas of support include a 16-bed state of the art Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) located in our brand-new tower (C2/5) at University Hospital with a tentative opening in early 2027.

MICU nurses provide comprehensive care for patients admitted with a wide variety of complex medical issues including acute respiratory failure, sepsis, drug toxicity, poisoning, and multi system organ failure. Interventions may include ECMO or CRRT.

Improve patient outcomes and healthcare quality by providing expert clinical guidance, education, and implementing evidence-based practices.

Act as a clinical expert for specific clinical populations; a minimum of three years of medical intensive care nursing experience is strongly preferred.

Pay range is based on a full-time (100%) position.

Salary is prorated based on FTE.

- Master's Degree or doctoral degree in Nursing Required
- Master's Degree or doctoral degree (DNP or PhD) with CNS role focus Preferred
- 2 years of relevant clinical nursing experience Required
- 3 years of relevant clinical nursing experience Preferred
- Previous experience as a clinical nurse specialist Preferred
- Experience in an academic medical center Preferred
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Wisconsin or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Upon Hire Required
- Basic Life Support CPR/BLS certification Upon Hire Required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months Required
- CNS certification Preferred
- Certification in specialty area of practice Preferred
