Work Schedule:
100% FTE position scheduled to typically work Monday through Friday, day shift hours, however some off hours or weekends may be required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. You will primarily work at University Hospital located in Madison, WI.

We are seeking an MSN or DNP prepared Registered Nurse (RN) to:
- Lead onboarding and ongoing professional development for nursing staff supporting the 18-bed Neuroscience ICU and 12-bed Neurosciences Progressive Care Unit at University Hospital, with potential collaboration across additional neurosciences general care services as program needs evolve.
- Assess, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive educational programs for nurses caring for patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage, ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, traumatic brain and spinal cord injury, brain tumors, hydrocephalus, Guillain-Barré syndrome, seizure disorders, and other complex neurovascular conditions.
- Support specialty competency development in advanced neurologic assessment, ICP and hemodynamic monitoring, stroke care, and management of high-acuity neurosurgical and neurovascular populations across progressive and intensive care levels. Specific neuro ICU nursing experience is highly preferred.
- Facilitate structured onboarding for experienced nurses transitioning into high-acuity neurosciences practice, ensuring safe integration into nationally recognized Comprehensive Stroke and Epilepsy programs.
- Serve as a clinical education resource, promoting evidence-based nursing care, skills validation, and continuous professional growth within a collaborative academic environment.
- Participate in system-wide education initiatives and assigned NES responsibilities to support consistent, high-quality nursing education across UW Health.

- Master's Degree in Nursing Required
- Master's Degree in Nursing Education Preferred
- 3 years of relevant clinical nursing experience Required
- 3 years of relevant clinical nursing experience with position specific patient population Preferred
- 3 years of experience providing orientation and education for nursing staff in clinical setting Preferred
- Relevant experience in primary and specialty clinic settings for NES candidates working in ambulatory areas Preferred
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Upon Hire Required
- Basic Life Support BLS/CPR certification Upon Hire Required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months Required
- National certification in relevant specialty Preferred
