70% FTE, Day shift. Weekdays, plus every 9th Saturday rotation required, Sundays and Holidays off. We offer a competitive starting pay; relevant work experience will be considered. You will work onsite at the University Hospital, American Family Children’s Hospital and East Madison Hospital locations in Madison, WI.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Patient & Family Educator to:
- Provide specialized education to adult and pediatric patients on conditions including diabetes, heart failure, anticoagulation therapy (Coumadin and Lovenox), and brief alcohol intervention to support safe and effective care.
- Assess patient and family learning needs and deliver individualized education on essential self-management skills such as blood glucose monitoring, insulin administration, and continuous glucose monitor use.
- Partner with interdisciplinary teams across inpatient units and clinics to coordinate and reinforce education and support patients and families in understanding their care plans.
- Utilize evidence-based education strategies, health literacy principles, and innovative teaching technologies to enhance patient and family learning.
- Serve as a resource and collaborator for clinical staff, reinforcing patient education and supporting a comprehensive patient and family education program across UW Health.
- Preferred candidates will have experience caring for patients with diabetes, heart failure, or anticoagulation therapy needs.

- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred
- 3 years recent relevant clinical experience Required
- Broad experience in medical/surgical and/or pediatric nursing Required
- Demonstrated leadership experience Preferred
- RN Licensure in the State of Wisconsin Upon Hire Required
- BLS/CPR Certification Upon Hire Required
- CDE Preferred
