Physical Therapist Assistant (School Setting)
Contract • Weekdays • 35 Hours/Week
Start Date: April 13, 2026

Overview:
A school-based Physical Therapist Assistant is needed for a 6-month contract assignment supporting students ages 3–22 with diverse physical and developmental needs. The school has a total of 36 students, most requiring physical therapy services. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.

Schedule:

• Days, Monday–Friday
• 35 hours per week
• 6-month contract (option to go temp-perm) 
• Start Date: April 13, 2026

Responsibilities:

• Implement individualized physical therapy goals as outlined in students’ IEPs
• Provide direct and consultative PT services in classroom, therapy, and community settings
• Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
• Assist with adaptive equipment, positioning tools, and mobility aids
• Monitor and document student progress; report updates to supervising PT
• Participate in IEP meetings as needed
• Provide training to staff on safe handling and mobility techniques
• Maintain accurate documentation per state and federal guidelines

Qualifications:

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (state requirements apply)
• Experience with pediatric or school-based populations preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to support students with a wide range of physical and developmental needs

The Physical Therapy Assistant provides physical therapy services, including treatment, implementation, and documentation, under the direction of the Physical Therapist and in accordance with the physician’s plan of care. 

Minimum Requirements:    

• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of practice 
• One (1) year of prior professional Physical Therapy Assistant experience preferred. 
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice 
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) 
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements 
• Must be at least 18 years of age
