Description
Responsibilities:
- Gross all biopsy specimens.
- Assist and instruct residents in grossing large biopsy and surgical specimens.
- Provide photography services for gross room.
- Assist and instructs residents in performing frozen sections.
- Assist with autopsies.
- Assist in the accessioning of specimens coming into the gross room.
- Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of Anatomic Pathology processes, scientific principles and practices, concepts, and theories providing for sound independent work.
- At least one year of working experience as a Pathology Assistant preferred.
- Certification by the American Association of Pathologists’ Assistants or other national accrediting agency preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in biological science or related field preferred.
- Current Health Certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Current PPD or Chest X-Ray.
