Position Overview
Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced Mammography Technologist for a 13-week contract assignment in East Boston, Massachusetts. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected outpatient imaging team focused exclusively on breast cancer screening services. The assignment offers a consistent weekday schedule, competitive compensation, and strong potential for extension.
Assignment Details
- Position: Mammography Technologist
- Location: East Boston, MA
- Openings: 1
- Contract Length: 13 Weeks with likelihood of extension
- Start Date: ASAP (9/8 or 9/14 start options available)
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Schedule: Monday through Friday
- Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Lunch: One-hour unpaid break from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
- Patient Population: Screening Mammography Only
- No diagnostic mammography
- Parking: Free onsite
- Interview Process: Virtual interview via Microsoft Teams
Qualified candidates must have:
- ARRT (M) Certification
- Current 3D Mammography experience
- Massachusetts Radiation Control License by start date
- Typical processing time is 2-3 weeks
- License reimbursement available
- Current AHA BLS Certification by start date
- Strong patient care and communication skills
Compliance Requirements
- TB Test within six months of start date
- MMR vaccines or positive titer
- Varicella vaccines or positive titer
- Tdap within the last 10 years or signed declination
- Hepatitis B declinations accepted
- COVID-19 primary vaccination series required or approved medical/religious exemption
- Seasonal flu vaccine required or approved medical/religious exemption
- No drug screen required
Compensation
Local Candidates
- Up to $3,200/week
- Approximate hourly rate: $80/hour
Travel Candidates
- Up to $3,687/week
- Includes taxable hourly wages plus eligible housing and meal stipends
Note: Travel lodging stipends may be adjusted following annual GSA updates. Amergis will work to minimize any impact by adjusting taxable pay whenever possible.

The Mammography Technologist performs a variety of technical activities associated with the performance of screening and diagnostic mammography procedures. The Mammography Technologist uses specialized X-ray equipment to take images of the breast tissue and work with radiologists to interpret the results. The Mammography Technologist helps detect breast cancers early to improve the chances of successful treatment and survival.
Minimum Requirements:
- Current State License or Certificate in state where they will be working
- One (1) year of experience as a Mammography Technician preferred.
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
