Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery – Orange, CA 92868

Start Date: July 28, 2026

Location: Orange, California

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00). Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2. Weekend coverage may exceed every other weekend to accommodate unit needs. Facility may call off once per pay period (2-weeks).

  • High-acuity Labor and Delivery unit caring for complex pregnancy diagnoses including pre-eclampsia, multiples, fetal anomalies, and preterm labor
  • Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
  • 72-hour orientation period to ensure successful integration

Requirements:

  • Active California RN license (must be in hand prior to start)
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
  • Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers cannot be considered
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate (NCC EFM certification accepted in place of Intermediate AWHONN); AWHONN Advanced preferred
  • Must be able to circulate for C-sections
  • Proficiency in all required skills including assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, cervical cerclage, D&C, magnesium sulfate therapy, insulin drips, external fetal monitoring, and recognition/treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
  • Experience in large hospital settings highly preferred
  • LA fire card within the last 30 days required
  • Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years

You'll work with neonates and adults in a dynamic unit that handles the full spectrum of obstetric care, from routine deliveries to complex high-risk cases. All time-off requests must be submitted at time of application, and you must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays during the assignment period.
