Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, NICU – Apple Valley, CA 92307

Start Date: August 11, 2026

Location: Apple Valley, California

Schedule: Day shift, 3x12-Hour (06:00 - 18:30). Every other weekend required, may exceed to accommodate unit needs. Guaranteed hours with facility allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks.

• Level III NICU with 14 beds and approximately 190 births per month
• Acute care hospital with 212 total staffed beds utilizing Epic charting system
• Patient ratios staffed by acuity, up to 1:3 ratio
• 40-hour orientation provided with interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and social services

Requirements:

• Active California RN license required prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year in NICU specialty required
• Level III NICU experience required (hard stop requirement)
• Current certifications: BLS, NRP Advanced (or NRP with willingness to obtain Advanced before start date), PALS
• Epic charting system experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• LA fire card within the last 30 days required
• Experience with patient ratios of 2-3 patients
• Proficiency in required skills including administration of blood products, high-frequency ventilation, central line management, PICC line management, IV vasopressors, and ventilator management
• May float to Mother/Baby for babies; if couplet experience, may float fully
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years

This 13-week travel assignment offers the opportunity to work in a well-equipped Level III NICU caring for neonates and infants with conditions including prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome, neonatal abstinence syndrome, and hyperbilirubinemia. The unit features advanced equipment including high-frequency ventilators, oscillators, CPAP/BIPAP, and smart pumps. All time-off requests must be submitted at time of application, with approval based on facility needs. Scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered.
