Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical Intensive Care Unit – Anchorage, AK 99508

Start Date: September 8, 2026

Location: Anchorage, Alaska

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30), 13-week assignment. Weekend coverage required as needed. Patient ratio of 2:1 across all shifts.

28-bed Medical ICU caring for medical cardiac, surgical cardiac, open heart recovery, neuro intervention, stroke, sepsis, respiratory failure, trauma, and spinal cord injury patients
Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and lift teams
Epic charting system with 12 hours of orientation provided
Free parking and scrubs provided
Advanced equipment experience including IABP, CRRT, Impella, tandem heart, and targeted temperature management

Requirements:

Active Alaska RN license required (compact license accepted but must convert to Alaska license)
Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required
Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required; TNCC preferred
Epic charting system experience required
Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
Proficiency in ventilator management, vasoactive drip titration, arterial line management, central line care, blood product administration, and care of critically ill patients with multisystem organ dysfunction
Commitment to work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
