Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical – Tyler, TX 75701

Start Date: October 20, 2026

Location: Tyler, Texas

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00). Patient ratio 1:6. Weekend coverage required for approximately half of the contract duration.

Highlights:

• 19-bed private room medical-surgical unit specializing in neurological and stroke-related conditions
• Patient population includes acute ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, TIA, seizure disorders, traumatic brain injury, and neurosurgical diagnoses
• Unit equipped with continuous telemetry and pulse oximetry monitoring for comprehensive patient care
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
• Evidence-based, patient-centered care focused on neurological assessment and stroke recovery
• Epic charting system with 16 hours of orientation provided

Requirements:

• Active RN license (state or compact license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; travel experience preferred
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with 1:6 patient ratios
• Proficiency in medical-surgical and telemetry nursing, including blood product administration, IV management, telemetry monitoring, and neurological care
• Must not reside in the following Texas counties: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris
