Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical/Telemetry – Lubbock, TX 79410
Start Date: October 5, 2026
Location: Lubbock, Texas
Schedule: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00). Every other weekend required. 91-day assignment with 40 hours of orientation. Patient ratio of 1:5-6. Flexibility to float between units as needed.
Highlights:
- Work at a 379-bed short-term acute care facility with Level II Trauma Center designation
- Gain experience in general medical-surgical/telemetry with exposure to multiple acute care units
- Collaborative interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- Epic charting system utilized throughout the facility
- Free employee parking available on-site
- Block scheduling approved but not required for flexibility
Requirements:
- Active Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
- Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required (at least one prior contract)
- Epic charting system experience required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, central line management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration, wound care, and high-flow nasal cannula
- Experience with heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, PCA pumps, and rapid response/code teams
- Willingness to float to other acute care departments within the facility
- Two professional references covering one year within the last three years
- Commitment to work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
