Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / Case Manager – Torrance, CA 90503

Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Torrance, California

Schedule: Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (08:00 - 16:30). Every other weekend required. Must be available for holidays and commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day). Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract.

Highlights:

• 91-day travel assignment at an acute care facility in Southern California
• Case load up to 25 patients with a 1:20 ratio during day shifts
• No floating required within the unit; focus on care coordination and discharge planning
• Business attire or scrubs accepted; 40 hours of paid orientation provided
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response teams
• Weekend rotation includes oversight of up to 2 units with emphasis on discharge planning

Requirements:

• Active California RN license required (pending licenses accepted but must be active by start date)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care case management or discharge planning experience
• Epic charting system experience required
• InterQual criteria experience highly preferred
• Travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers must be screened
• Proficiency in admission criteria, care coordination, discharge planning, medical necessity determination, and DRG knowledge
• Experience with Medicare, MediCal, HMOs, and arranging DME, SNF, and ambulance transport independently
• Knowledge of behavioral health resources, homelessness services, advance directives, and protective services processes
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years required
