Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor & Delivery – South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150

Start Date: September 21, 2026

Location: South Lake Tahoe, California

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 guaranteed hours per week. 8-bed unit with approximately 300 births per year. No deliveries before 35 weeks gestation. Three RNs always staffed on unit.

Highlights:

• Comprehensive perinatal nursing role including pre-labor/triage, delivery, postpartum, and nursery care
• Work in a beautiful mountain community at nearly 6,200 feet above sea level
• Opportunity to care for high-risk patients including preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, and multiples (twins)
• Training provided in nursery and lactation skills; two RN/LCs on staff for support
• 91-day travel assignment at a Level III Trauma Center and community health system
• Perform outpatient fetal stress tests (day shift) and provide independent care during nights and weekends

Requirements:

• Current California RN license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required; 5+ years preferred
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• Current Fetal Heart Monitoring certification (NCC or AWHONN Intermediate/Advanced course accepted)
• STABLE certification preferred
• Significant neonatal resuscitation experience required
• Completion of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred
• Strong ability to work independently and provide care without physician or anesthesia support during nights and weekends
