Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Progressive Care Unit – Seattle, WA 98122

Start Date: November 16, 2026

Location: Seattle, Washington

Schedule: Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30). Every other weekend required. Floating to like units as needed. Assignment duration: 91 days (approximately 13 weeks).

Highlights:

• Surgical Telemetry PCU specializing in cardiac care including myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, and pre/post open-heart surgery patients
• Patient population includes vascular surgery, coronary artery disease, heart failure, pre/post cath lab, and stroke patients with cardiac involvement
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 (may be 1:5 at midnight)
• 36-bed unit with daily census of 32 patients serving adult and geriatric populations
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
• Opportunity to work with specialized cardiac procedures including LVAD, TAVR, chest tubes, and epicardial pacing

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact license accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience required
• Surgical telemetry experience with open heart surgery and vascular procedures required
• Proficiency with radial/groin band management, advanced IV skills, and NIH stroke scale
• Epic charting system experience is mandatory
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers cannot be considered
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management, cardiac drips, chest tubes, and sternal precautions
• Preferred experience with VAD and TAVR procedures
• Must be flexible with floating to similar units and weekend coverage
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
