Description
Travel/Contract Radiology / Cardiology Position
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Work Schedule: Weekend shifts only (Friday, Saturday & Sunday)
- Shift Hours: 12-hour days, 08:45 PM - 09:15 AM
- Call Requirement: None
- Float Requirement: None
- Patient Population: Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics
- Unit: Emergency Department (ED)
- Work Environment: Very fast-paced with trauma and Code Stroke cases
- Daily Caseload: 150-200 scans across 4 rooms
- Typical Case Load per Tech (8-hour shift): 8-12 patients
- Number of Techs on Shift:
- First shift: 4-5 techs
- Second shift (after 5 PM): 2-3 techs
- Third shift: 1 tech
- Weekends: 2 techs
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum Specialty Experience: 2 years
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required (1st time travelers accepted)
- Skills:
- Inpatient, ER, Adult ICU experience
- Experience with Siemens & GE scanners (Siemens FORCE model use is a MUST)
- Some trauma experience
- CT Procedure Experience:
- Abdomen, Pelvis, Head/Neck, Chest, Spine, Musculoskeletal, Brain Perfusion, CTAs, Multiplanar Reconstruction
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT(R)(CT)
Preferred Skills
- Outpatient experience
- IV starts
- PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System)
- Contrast administration
- Visage system familiarity
Orientation & Start Details
- Orientation attendance is mandatory; missing any portion may delay or cancel the start
- Start date is subject to change based on class and trainer availability
- Travelers may start on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of the first week
- Must be fully available with no other commitments during orientation and start week
Equipment & Systems
- Siemens Scanner (FORCE model) and GE scanners
- Unit Systems: EPIC, Visage
Dress Code
- Scrubs color: Royal Blue
Patient Diagnoses
- Variety of patient ages and conditions including trauma and stroke cases
Additional Notes
- No weekend RTO (Return to Office) allowed
- Very fast-paced emergency department environment
- No call or float requirements
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Background checks within 6 months
- Drug testing within 6 months (9-panel acceptable)
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- Negative TB or Chest X-Ray within 1 year
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella vaccination or titer documentation
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- Certifications and competencies as required (e.g., ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Certification if applicable)
- Photo for badge (passport style, solid white background, business attire)
- Completion of facility-specific orientation and training modules (e.g., Medication Safety, Non-Novant Health Worker Orientation)
- Compliance with hospital policies and confidentiality agreements
This position is ideal for radiology technologists with at least 2 years of experience, comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced emergency department setting, and proficient with Siemens FORCE CT scanners. Weekend availability and flexibility during orientation are essential.
