Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Telemetry) - Travel/Contract

Location: Tyler, Texas
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts of 12 hours each
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Charting System: Epic (experience required)
Trauma Level: Level I experience preferred
Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 6 patients
Float Requirement: Yes, to units of equal acuity
Unit Size: 36 beds/rooms

Required Certifications (as applicable)

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
BLS (Basic Life Support)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
CHEMO (Chemotherapy)
TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
NIH Stroke Certification
CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)

Competencies

Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
Color Blind Testing (online acceptable)
Competency Exam (minimum 80% or meet/exceed Angoff score)
Annual Core Testing (for subcontractors)

Licensure & Verification

Primary source online verification of state license required
NURSYS Verification required for RN licenses
Education verification required (highest level of education)

Background & Health Requirements

7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire
Fingerprinting (time sensitive for certain states)
Physical exam within 12 months of start
Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
TB questionnaire for positive TB results, renewed annually
Immunizations/vaccinations required with proper documentation:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (or declination)
- Varicella (or documented history)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)
Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start

Notes

Float to units of equal acuity may be required.
Prior travel experience is mandatory for this role.
Candidates residing in certain counties in Texas are not eligible for travel contracts with this facility.
