Job Opportunity: Case Manager RN (Registered Nurse)

Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: 5x8 hour day shifts
  • Shift Times: One of the following:
    • 07:00 - 15:30
    • 07:30 - 16:00
    • 08:00 - 16:30
    • 08:30 - 17:00
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or 4 weekend days in a 4-week schedule
  • On-call: No
  • Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
  • Block Schedule: Not accommodated
  • Locals Accepted: No (candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility)
  • Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours per 2 weeks (may be called off for 1 eight-hour shift per 2 weeks)
  • Start Date: ASAP

Required Qualifications

  • License: Alaska RN license in hand required for auto offer (pending license not accepted)
  • Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year in specialty
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) required
    • ACM (Acute Care Management) certification preferred
  • Skills:
    • Epic electronic health record experience required
    • Acute care experience required
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
  • First Timers Accepted: Yes

Schedule and Time Off Restrictions

  • Only 1 time off request per 13-week assignment, limited to 5 days or less

Required Documentation and Compliance

  • Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • Drug screen: 10 panel within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) within 10 years or declination
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination (positive titer and vaccine series required for Alaska placements)
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season
    • COVID vaccine or declination
  • Respirator fit testing required annually (travel only)
  • References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
  • Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/subcontractors)
  • Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable

Training and Modules

  • Completion of required WorkRamp modules prior to start, including:
    • Annual regulatory requirements
    • Specialty-specific modules for Case Management and Acute Care
    • Facility-specific modules including Basics of Trauma Informed Care
  • Epic training modules required with transcript submission prior to moving to paid status

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must comply with floating policy and may be required to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
  • Candidates must have a passport-style badge photo with neutral background for badge issuance
  • Locals are not accepted; candidate must live at least 50 miles from the facility
  • No block scheduling available
  • Weekend work is required as specified
