Physical Therapist - Days

Location: Atascadero, California
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

The Physical Therapist implements patient rehabilitation programs to improve mobility, function, and strength in an outpatient/rehabilitation clinic setting.

Work Schedule

• Preferred schedule: Four 9-hour days plus one 4-hour day (4x9's & 1x4)

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients through physical therapy and rehabilitation programs
• Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) for evaluations, reports, and discharge summaries
• Guide and monitor patient care throughout treatment and follow-up
• Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants and Aides in all aspects of patient care
• Communicate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality care
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and follow up on prescriptions, test results, and authorizations
• Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and walking safety
• Participate in business marketing and referral processes as needed
• Adhere to HIPAA policies and patient privacy regulations
• Comply with OSHA, federal, and state regulations
• Be physically mobile during work hours, including sitting, walking, standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds

Physical Demands

• Frequent walking, sitting, standing, bending, and lifting
• Ability to assist patients with mobility restraints and transfers
• Must be alert to ensure patient safety

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in California
• Degree in Physical Therapy
• Minimum of 1 year of Physical Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
