Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PACU

Location: West Hollywood, California

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with PACU specialty to provide care primarily for an adult population in a high-volume perioperative setting. The RN will work across multiple areas including preoperative and post-anesthesia care units.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of PACU (Post Anesthesia Care) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Certifications:

  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • CHEMO (Chemotherapy Certification)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • NIH Stroke Certification
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
• Skills and Experience:

  • Conscious sedation IV start
  • Experience/ability with Pulmonary Artery Lines
  • Experience/ability with Telemetry ventilators (Tele Vents)

Job Details

• Weekend shifts as needed
• Floating required
• No on-call requirement
• No scheduling requests can be accommodated

Typical Caseload and Unit Information

• Caseload: 120-140 cases per day
• Over 100 preop and PACU bays
• RN will work in all areas of the unit
• Patient population primarily adults
• Surgical specialties include:

  • General, Trauma, Thoracic, Surgical Oncology
  • Gender Affirming Surgeries, Breast Reconstruction
  • Bariatric, Colorectal, Orthopedics, Urology, Gynecology
  • Spine, Neurosurgery, Cardiac, Vascular
  • Pediatrics, Plastic Surgery, Hand, Foot/Ankle
  • Liver, Kidney, Organ Transplants
  • Interventional Radiology, Endoscopy, ENT, Pain Management, Ophthalmology

Required Health and Compliance Documents

• Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to perform essential job functions
• Fit test within 1 year (updated annually)
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
• Immunizations:

  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B vaccine series, titer, or declination
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination (mandatory during flu season)
• Drug screening panel within 1 year (excluding marijuana/THC)
• Background check including 7-year criminal history and nationwide search
• Professional references: 2 required, at least 1 supervisory

Additional Requirements

• Completion of medication and EKG competency exams during orientation
• Photo for badge (passport-style, strict guidelines)
• Acknowledgement and signing of facility-specific policies including code of conduct, job hazard analysis, social media policy, and attendance policy
• Fire safety card to be obtained during orientation
• Attestation of prior radiation exposure if applicable to assignment area
