Job Opportunity: Oncology Clinic Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Santa Rosa, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position: Oncology Clinic RN
- Daily duties include administering 6 infusions and performing 1-2 port draws.
- Familiarity with Alaris Infusion Pumps and CADD Ambulatory Pumps is required.
- Oncology certification required (ONCC or ONS).
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records preferred but not mandatory.
- Start date: ASAP
- Weekends and call are not required.
- Locals accepted.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- Minimum of 1 year of oncology nursing experience, with oncology experience within the last year
- Oncology certification (ONCC or ONS)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Work Schedule
- Guaranteed 40 hours per week.
- No weekends or on-call duties.
Key Competencies and Skills
- Competency in medication administration and pharmacology as applicable.
- Ability to operate infusion pumps and manage port draws.
- Strong clinical skills in oncology patient care.
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
- Immunizations and screenings required:
- TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted).
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted).
- COVID-19 vaccine or declination.
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests).
- Respiratory safety clearance for respirator use (annual).
Background and Compliance
- Background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
- Education verification required for nursing degree.
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years required.
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty within the last 3 years.
Additional Notes
- No weekends or call required.
- Floating to other nearby facilities may be required.
- EPIC training may be required post-hire if applicable.
- Various mandatory compliance and regulatory training modules must be completed annually.
This position is ideal for an RN with oncology experience seeking a travel contract in California with a focus on infusion therapy in an outpatient oncology clinic setting.
