Job Opportunity: Speech Language Pathologist

Location: Plymouth, Michigan
Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Job Description

• Full-time position working with preschool and elementary students.
• Caseload of approximately 50 students.
• Work settings include early learning academy and elementary school.
• Focus on speech-only students.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist license in Michigan.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as a Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist.
• Experience working with pediatric populations, specifically preschool and elementary students.
• General Speech Language Pathologist experience.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Must provide unexpired government-issued photo ID.
• Background checks within 1 year of start date, including multiple searches (SS Trace, Federal, Nationwide, County, Sex Offender).
• Fingerprint clearance required; candidate cannot start while fingerprints are in process.
• State licensure verification required.
• Mandatory Reporter Training must be completed and updated annually.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required and must be current.
• Educational Services - State Teaching Certificate or equivalent required.
• FERPA acknowledgment required and must be updated annually.
• Employment history check required prior to start.
• Various accounting and tax documents required (W4, I9, Direct Deposit Authorization, Emergency Contact Form, etc.).

Additional Notes

• Physical exam, drug testing, and certain immunizations (e.g., flu vaccine) are only required if specified by the client or state.
• Competency exams are not generally required unless requested by the client.
• Candidate must be prepared to comply with all school district and state-specific requirements related to working in educational settings.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
