Physical Therapist (Rehabilitation Therapy) – Morro Bay, California

Job Summary

• Implement patient rehabilitation programs to improve mobility, function, and strength.
• Evaluate and treat patients in an outpatient/rehabilitation clinic setting.
• Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants and Aides in all aspects of patient care.
• Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) for evaluations, reports, and discharge summaries.
• Communicate with physicians and healthcare team to ensure quality patient care.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and follow-up on prescriptions, test results, and authorizations.
• Participate in business marketing and referral processes as needed.
• Adhere to HIPAA policies and procedures to protect patient privacy.
• Comply with OSHA and federal/state regulations.

Physical Demands

• Ability to be physically mobile: combination of sitting, walking, and prolonged standing for 8-10 hour workdays.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and assist patients with mobility, transfers, and walking safety.
• Constant alertness to patient safety is required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in California.
• Academic degree in Physical Therapy.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist.
• Recent Physical Therapist experience within the last year.

Preferred Qualifications

• Continuing education courses in Physical Therapy.

Work Environment

• Outpatient physical therapy clinic.
• No travel required.

Additional Information

• Responsible for supervising PT Assistants and Aides.
• Expected to follow all privacy policies and participate in privacy training.
• Must be familiar with billing policies related to Medicare, workers’ compensation, private insurance, auto, liens, and cash pay.
