Job Opportunity: Speech-Language Pathologist - Inpatient Rehab

Work Schedule

• Day shift, 5 days per week (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM)
• 8 hours per day
• One weekend day required per week

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of outpatient experience required
• Prior travel experience not required (first-time travelers accepted)

Licensure

• California state license required
• Pending license accepted

Certifications (as applicable)

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - current certification by AAP, AHA, or Canadian Paediatric Society (if applicable)
• Other certifications may be required based on clinical track and specialty; verify with credentialing team

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating fitness to work
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
• Immunizations or proof of immunity for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (vaccination series or signed declination)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine during flu season (declinations accepted)
• COVID-19 vaccination record preferred (declinations not required)
• 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant tests acceptable with attestation)
• Respiratory safety clearance for respirator use (required annually for travel candidates)
• Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must include SSN trace, death master index, sex offender registry, education verification, and other checks as applicable
• Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment with explanations for gaps or overlaps
• Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
• Skills checklist updated annually (if applicable)
• Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background)

Additional Requirements

• Float policy acknowledgment: may be required to float to other nearby facilities
• Completion of required online training modules annually via WorkRamp LMS, including:

  • System-level regulatory modules
  • Specialty-specific modules based on profession and region
  • Facility-specific modules as applicable
• Epic training modules completion may be required depending on region and role
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable by profession
• Color blindness testing if required by unit
• Drug testing attestation if instant drug screen used

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in California
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist
• Experience as a Speech Language Pathologist within the last year
• Experience in an outpatient setting

Notes

• No restrictions on return-to-office (RTO) days beyond 7 days
• Average daily census approximately 10 patients

This position offers an opportunity to work in an acute care inpatient rehabilitation setting with a focus on outpatient experience. Candidates must maintain all required licenses, certifications, and health documentation current and comply with facility-specific policies and training requirements.
