  • Day Shift: 6:45am - 3:15pm
  • Evening Shift: 3:00pm - 11:30pm
  • Night Shift: 11:15pm - 7:15am

Job Description

• Provide direct personal care services to a caseload of patients in a long-term care (LTC) health facility.
• Observe and report on a variety of physical and/or mental symptoms and conditions.
• Implement care and treatment procedures.
• Assist and participate in the activities of the treatment team.
• Assess each patient’s age-specific needs.
• Apply knowledge of basic nursing skills including:

  • Taking vital signs
  • Measuring output
  • Recognizing abnormal signs and symptoms
  • First aid
  • Infection control and universal precautions
  • Body mechanics
  • Principles of growth and development
  • Activities of daily living (eating/feeding, bathing, dressing)
  • Restorative care (use of assistive devices, range of motion activities)
• Use basic medical and nursing terminology.
• Maintain patient rights and dignity.

Required Qualifications

• Valid CNA license in Hawaii.
• Minimum 6 months (0.5 years) of experience in a Long Term Care (LTC) setting.
• LTC experience must be within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Workers must be obtained within six months of employment.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand simple English sentences.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions precisely.
• Emotional stability and respect toward patients with various disabilities.
• Physical ability to perform essential duties.
