MRI Tech - Travel/Contract

Job Details

• Shift:

  • Thursday 10:30 AM - 11:00 PM (Orthopedic Hospital)
  • Friday 10:30 AM - 11:00 PM (Orthopedic Hospital)
  • Saturday 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM (Main Facility)
• Hours per week: 36 hours
• Call Requirement: None
• Float Requirement: Thursday and Friday at Orthopedic Hospital; Saturday at main hospital
• Orientation:

  • Unit orientation from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Hospital orientation during week one; full availability required for classes each day
  • Start date subject to change based on class and trainer availability; missing any portion of orientation may delay or cancel start
• Scrubs: Royal blue
• Patient Population: Required familiarity with adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients; preferred experience with neonates, infants, and pediatrics
• Equipment: GE and Siemens MRI machines
• Documentation System: EPIC
• Scheduling: Per unit needs
• Disaster Response: Contract staff may be assigned to Storm or Hurricane Teams and required to report during catastrophic events or disasters

Required Qualifications

• Valid MRI Technologist license in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of MRI Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)

Preferred Qualifications

• Skills in chest imaging and image post-processing

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background check within 6 months for clinical candidates
• Drug screening (9-panel) within 6 months of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start; additional documentation required if past positive TB
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Rubeola (Measles) titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters if negative/equivocal
  • Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella per standard requirements
• Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/1 - 10/31)
• Physical exam per travel agency standards (not required by client)
• Photo ID (passport or driver’s license) required
• Photo for badge: passport-style photo on white background, business attire, no head coverings except glasses
• Various facility-specific forms including confidentiality agreement, medication safety certificate, annual compliance training, and education roster
• Competency exams and color blindness testing as applicable
• Radiation badge required if applicable to role (e.g., Radiology Techs)

Additional Notes

• No return-to-office (RTO) after booking allowed; call-offs or additional RTO may lead to cancellation
• Travelers must be fully available with no other commitments during orientation week
• Contract staff may be reassigned mid-contract based on unit needs
• Candidates must complete all required education and compliance modules prior to or during orientation
• Candidates must complete password setup and login to the facility’s learning system within 24 hours of receiving credentials to avoid start delays

This position is ideal for experienced MRI Technologists with prior travel assignments who are flexible with scheduling and able to work in a fast-paced, multi-facility environment with disaster response responsibilities.
