Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry

Specialty & Patient Population

Acute Medical/Surgical unit
Patient types include Orthopedics, Colorectal, Urology, Sepsis, Small Bowel Obstruction (SBO), and Geriatric Gynecology

Job Summary

Independently provide routine and complex nursing care in an acute med/surg setting
Manage clinical situations by making appropriate assignments and delegations
Utilize nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness
Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Texas
Telemetry experience within the last year (minimum 1 year)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Competencies

Expected to meet leadership competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders consistent with professional standards
