CT Technologist

Location: Gardner, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shifts: Flexible shifts including weekends and holidays; coverage on first and second shifts as needed; 10-hour shifts and days to be covered

Job Summary

• Perform CT scans using computerized tomography equipment to produce cross-sectional images for diagnosis.
• Interpret physician scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate CT equipment, and position patients appropriately.
• Ensure radiation safety procedures are followed to protect self and patients.
• Maintain high-quality diagnostic images that meet predetermined criteria.
• Review physician orders for accuracy and confirm correct exams based on clinical history.
• Coordinate scheduling and patient flow to complete exams timely.
• Document and enter patient orders, charges, and exam details accurately.
• Take special precautions for women of childbearing age and pregnant patients to minimize radiation exposure.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Respond immediately and appropriately in emergency situations.
• Advocate for patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Monitor and enforce hand hygiene compliance.
• Assist patients with mobility and accommodate special needs, especially elderly patients.
• Recognize and respond to patient pain and communication needs effectively.
• Follow policies to prevent neonate, infant, and child abduction.

Required Qualifications

• Valid CT Technologist license in Massachusetts
• Minimum of 2 years of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
• ARRT (R) certification

Physical Requirements

• Ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
• Frequent reaching and handling with hands.
• Occasional stooping, crouching, and tactile perception.
