Shift Details

• Day shift, 4 days per week
• 10-hour shifts (6:30 AM to 5:00 PM)
• 40 hours per week

Required Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience in GI/Endoscopy nursing
• Scrub experience required
• Experience with Pediatric Endoscopy, PACU, and Inpatient settings preferred

Required Licenses and Certifications

• Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license at time of application
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• California Fire Card (must be obtained within first 6 months on assignment)

Prior Travel Experience

• First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience not required)

Job Responsibilities

• Assist intra-operatively with GI procedures performed under general anesthesia, MAC, and moderate sedation
• Maintain knowledge of GI equipment and accessories
• Procedures include: EGD, colonoscopy, PEG placement, GI bleed management, EUS, ERCP, and specimen handling

Scheduling and Work Requirements

• Floating required
• No weekend shifts required
• No on-call required
• No scheduling or time-off requests can be accommodated

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to meet essential job functions
• Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually (N95 or equivalent)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; if history of positive TB, additional documentation required
• Up-to-date immunizations including:

  • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for measles, mumps, rubella
  • Hepatitis B vaccine series, titer, or declination
  • 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer (or booster series if negative)
• Drug screening panel within 1 year (excluding marijuana/THC)
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31) for candidates starting after October 13, 2025; declinations not accepted

Background and Documentation

• Government-issued photo ID required
• 7-year criminal background check within 6 months of start, updated annually
• Highest level of education verification required
• Two professional references required, at least one supervisory

Competency and Testing

• Pass/fail EKG assessment during orientation (specific to unit)
• Medication competency test during orientation (not pass/fail)
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification verification
• Other competency exams as required by specialty

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Photo for badge must meet strict guidelines (passport-style photo, approved before start)
• Acknowledgement and signing of job hazard analysis, code of conduct, attendance policy, social media policy, and other facility-specific documents required

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
• Minimum 3 years of endoscopy experience, including experience within the last year
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience in an inpatient setting
• Experience in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
