Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (Travel)

Location

  • Denver, Colorado

Job Type

  • Travel assignment
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Hours per week: 36

Unit Information

  • Emergency Department with 11 beds
  • Staffing includes 2 RNs 24/7, 1 paramedic mid-shift, 1 MD 24/7, 1 radiology tech 24/7, and 1 security guard 24/7
  • Patient ratio: 1 RN to 4 patients
  • Equipment: GE monitors, Baxter pumps
  • Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado
  • Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
  • Acute Care experience
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENPC, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC, Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Training

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as an ER charge RN
  • Willingness to float between Emergency Department units

Typical Procedures Performed

  • EKGs
  • IV insertion and medication administration
  • Conscious sedation
  • Wound care
