Registered Nurse - Newborn Nursery
Location: El Paso, Texas
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Night Shift)
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Overview
- Unit Type: Newborn Nursery / Transition Nursery
- Number of Beds: 10 beds, plus 1 procedure room, 2 ORs, and 4 triage bays
- Staff on Unit: 9 total (6 RNs day shift, 2 RNs night shift plus 1 contract and 1 orientee)
- Patient Ratios: 1 RN to 3 patients; vapotherm patients 1:1 ratio
- Equipment: Panda warmers, cribs, all NRP equipment, hospital-grade breast pumps
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech/CPN
- Call Requirements: No call required
- Weekend Schedule: Rotating weekends
- Permanent Night Positions Available
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of nursery experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Preferred Skills
- Experience with STABLE protocol (preferred but not required)

- Apgar scoring
- Ballard assessment
- Medication administration
- Vapotherm therapy

- Fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
- Emphasis on teamwork and positive attitude
- Dress Code: Galaxy Blue scrubs (top and bottom) required
- Annual team events such as summer picnics for Mother/Baby, Labor & Delivery, and Newborn Nursery teams
