Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Travel)

Location: Sierra Vista, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12 hour shifts (7a-7p / 7p-7a)
Hours per Week: 36 hours

Job Summary

Acute Care Med/Surg unit with 34 beds
Patient ratio approximately 6:1
Patient population includes geriatric and adult patients; occasional pediatrics (not assigned to traveler)
Unit uses Cerner EHR system
Equipment includes Alaris pumps, SCD machines, feeding tubes, telemetry monitors
Occasional weekend work required
Call required only when unit is down staffed or placed on call
Float assignments possible to care for inpatient holds

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Arizona
Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 1 year of Med Surg and Telemetry experience within the last year
More than one year of total travel nursing experience
BLS certification
ACLS certification

Preferred Qualifications

Telemetry experience preferred
Flexible and willing to assist where needed

Additional Information

Dress code: scrubs of any color and closed-toed shoes only
Must occasionally work weekends
Must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as a travel nurse

Unit Environment

Acute care setting in a high desert region of southeastern Arizona
Patient types include telemetry, surgical, and general medical cases
Team-oriented with a focus on flexibility and support
