Registered Nurse – Behavioral Health
Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Coordinate nursing care for patients with behavioral health issues.
- Participate in patient and family teaching.
- Administer medications and treatments.
- Utilize EMR systems, including Meditech.
- Serve as Charge Nurse.
- Work 8-hour rotating shifts with weekend and holiday availability required.
- No floating to other departments.
- Unit has 12 beds with a team nursing model.
- Dress code: clean and professional attire.
- Orientation includes assignment to a mentor.
- Must arrive the Thursday before start date for employee health appointment.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Hawaii.
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Minimum 2 years of behavioral health nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
- Experience in Charge Nurse roles.
- BLS certification.
- NCI or other crisis prevention training.
Additional Information
- Shift schedule includes 8 and 12 hour rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Nurse-to-patient ratio follows a team model.
