RN - PICU Travel Opportunity
Location: Wichita, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Information
- Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Level II Trauma Center
- 15 beds, staffed by approximately 38 team members
- Day shift includes Intensivist, RN, Desk Tech, RT, Dietary, Case Management
- Night shift includes Intensivist, RN, RT
- Patient ratio: 2:1
- Equipment: General Cardiac Rhythm (CR) Monitoring
- Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech / CPN
- Teaching hospital environment
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kansas
- Minimum 1 year of Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience within the last year
- Current BLS and PALS certifications
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience in an acute care hospital setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
- Pediatric hematology/oncology nursing (APHON) experience
- Prior experience in a pediatric teaching hospital
Typical Procedures
- IV starts and blood draws
- Tracheostomy (TPT) placements
Work Environment & Culture
- Works well under pressure
- Patient care experience is a priority
- Supportive teaching hospital setting
This position is a travel assignment in a competitive market, offering exposure to advanced pediatric critical care in a Level II trauma center.
