RN - PCU
Job Overview
- Location: Asheville, North Carolina
- Employment type: Travel
- Specialty: Cardiovascular progressive care / stepdown
Unit Focus
- Cares for cardiovascular and vascular surgery patients, including open heart, thoracic surgery, esophagogastrectomy, AAA repair, fem-pop bypass, and carotid endarterectomy cases.
- Also receives overflow medical cardiology patients with conditions such as heart failure, DKA, chest pain, sepsis, and heart block.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- Telemetry experience
- ACLS
- BLS
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience with cardiovascular and vascular surgery patients within the past year
- CVICU experience
Schedule and Work Setting
- 36 hours per week
- 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
- No call
- May float to other stepdown, medical-surgical, or inpatient ER holding areas
