Location: Paramus, New Jersey

Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Hours: 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week
Contract Length: 23 weeks

Job Summary

• Perform cardiac ultrasound procedures including 2-D M-Mode, color flow imaging, stress echocardiogram, transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE), and Doppler studies.
• Assist a credentialed cardiology attending during stress echo and TEE procedures.
• Demonstrate complete knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.
• Obtain patient history and perform ordered procedures.
• Help patients onto and off the bed.
• Notify supervisor of acute or life-threatening abnormalities and communicate abnormal studies directly to the cardiologist.
• Acquire and digitally store echo studies for physician interpretation.
• Transport equipment for bedside studies.
• Calibrate, clean, and maintain equipment; report breakdowns and supply needs.
• Complete and process billing charge requisitions, log books, worksheets, and reports.
• Prepare and clean rooms for the next patient, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
• Apply aseptic and sterile techniques and follow isolation policies.
• Modify and deliver patient care specific to patient needs including age, culture, language, and sensory impairments.
• Assist in training new employees.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives.
• Perform other assigned tasks.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer, including experience within the last year.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent, or graduation from a certified cardiovascular technology school.
• Experience as a Vascular Sonographer and vascular testing experience.
