RN - Emergency Dept
Job Overview

Unit Details
- Emergency Department with 101 beds
- Typical patient ratio is 4:1 for medical patients; up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds
- Staff support includes techs, unit clerks, and cardiac monitoring/internal processing support
- No floating outside the ED; must be open to floating within all ED sections
- Scheduling includes every other weekend and no block scheduling
- Required uniform: navy scrubs
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
- ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
- Experience working with Level 2 Trauma patients
- ACLS
- BLS
- PALS
- TNCC
- CPI
- NIHSS
- ENPC within 90 days of hire
Preferred Experience
- Experience in a Level 2 trauma center
- Experience in a comprehensive stroke center
- Experience in a high-volume ED with more than 100,000 visits
- Previous HCA experience preferred
Work Environment
- Uses Cerner for documentation
- Equipment includes Baxter pumps and GE monitors
- Team-oriented environment with a welcoming, multicultural patient population
