RN - Med Surg

Job Type

- 13 weeks
Unit Details
- Medical-surgical unit
- 28 beds
- Patient ratio: 1:6
- Staff support includes clinical coordinators, unit secretary, PCTs, and case management
- Uses Meditech
- Floating is part of the rotation
- Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 28-day schedule
- Holiday rotation included
- Navy blue scrubs required
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Tennessee
- Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- BLS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Preferred Experience
- Oncology patient experience
- General surgery patient experience
Clinical Experience Needed
- Experience with respiratory diseases/illnesses
- Experience with renal disease
- Experience with GI diseases/illnesses
- Experience with telemetry
- Experience with CVCs
- Experience with indwelling catheters
- Experience with heparin drips
Other Notes
- Strong teamwork, compassion, collaboration, and communication skills are expected
- Patient experience target: 72% using communication boards
