RN Oncology
Overview
- Travel RN role in Asheville, NC
- Unit: K9A- Oncology/Women’s Surgical
- 24 beds
- 36 hours per week
- Contract length: 26 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Oncology (2 years of experience)
- Oncology experience within the last year
- BLS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Preferred Qualifications
- Chemo Certification
Unit Details
- Staffed with 42 total staff
- Day shift includes 1 CNC, 4-6 RNs, 2 CNAs, and 1 HUC
- Night shift includes 1 CNC, 4-6 RNs, and 2 CNAs
- Patient ratio is 1:4 or 1:5
- Uses Cerner
- Standard unit equipment
Clinical Focus
- Occasional pelvic exams
- Echo
- Thoracentesis
Floating
- May float to other med-surg units; team rarely floats
Schedule
- Rare call
- Required to work 6 weekend days per schedule
Additional Notes
- Team-oriented candidates who are willing to learn are preferred
- Dress code: RNs wear navy, white, or a combination of both colors
