Required Qualifications

• Experience: Polysomnographer experience with 2 years of experience, within the last year
• Certifications: BLS, RPSGT
• Driver's License

Responsibilities

• Performs all aspects of sleep recordings according to departmental policy.
• Obtains and documents a general history from patients, including diagnosis and medications.
• Prepares patients and applies electrodes using the international 10-20 system.
• Recognizes and attempts to eliminate artifacts on recording.
• Completes sleep records according to department policy and procedure and ensures accurate data collection and documentation.
• Recognizes and corrects equipment malfunctions when able.
• Communicates effectively with patients about expectations and requirements for optimal testing.
• Forwards data to appropriate personnel at the end of each study.
• Recognizes, monitors, and/or eliminates artifacts such as high-impedance leads, muscle artifact, eye movements, respiration artifact, and/or EKG.
• Assures proper documentation of procedures with effective communication to patients and staff.
