RN PCU
Overview
- Travel RN role in Asheville, North Carolina.
- Unit is based on the 5th floor of Owen Heart Center (Heart Tower).
- 40-bed cardiac stepdown/progressive care unit.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS
- ACLS
- Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience
- Stepdown experience
- Telemetry experience
- Experience with titratable or cardiac IV medications such as nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin drip, heparin, bumetanide, or Lasix
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin)
- Relief charge experience
Unit Details
- Patient population includes CHF, MI, CP, arrhythmia, Pulmonary Hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, DKA, post cardiac cath/stent, and post pacer/ICD/ablation
- Typical procedure performed: bedside cardioversion
- EMR: Cerner
Floating
- May float to all MedSurg units, Stepdown units, COVID unit, and ER holding
Schedule
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend
