RN Emergency Dept

Overview

Travel assignment in McAllen, Texas
36 hours per week
13-week contract
Unit: Edinburg FSED
10 beds
Patient ratio: 1:5
Fully functional ED
Work every other weekend

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Texas
ED - Emergency Department (1 year of experience)
ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
ACLS
BLS
PALS
TNCC
ENPC
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Trauma experience
Experience with Meditech

Preferred

Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
Experience in Level 1 and 2 trauma center settings
Ability to assist in obstetric deliveries in the emergency room
Familiar with rapid sequence intubation techniques
Proficiency in setting up for mechanical ventilation

Floating

Main Emergency Department
Other sister Freestanding Emergency Departments

Typical Procedures

Splinting
Moderate sedation
Chest tube insertion
Placement of central lines
Arterial blood gas
Lumbar puncture
Nebulizer treatments
