- Unit: Emergency Department / (780)
- 23 beds
- 1st Floor
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Colorado
- Pediatrics ER - Emergency Room (1 year of experience)
- Pediatrics ER - Emergency Room experience within the last year
- Experience working with Pediatric patients
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS
- PALS or ENPC
- TNCC
- CPI
Preferred Qualifications
- CEN
- CPEN
- US IV competency
Unit Details
- Day shift staffing includes 4 day RNs, 1 charge, 5 mid-shift RNs, 1 mid-shift unit clerk, and 1 EMT
- Night shift staffing includes 4 night RNs, 1 night EMT, and 1 night charge
- Patient ratio is 4:1, increasing to 5:1 during surge
- Equipment includes GE monitors
- EMR: Meditech
Typical Procedures
- Port access
- IV start
- Venipuncture
- Nasal wash
- Point of care testing (glucometer)
- EKG
- Foley placement
