Pediatric RN

Overview

Travel assignment in Richmond, Virginia
13-week contract
36 hours per week
Unit: Pediatric
15-bed unit
Patient ratio: 1:4, 1:5

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Virginia
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Pediatrics (2 years of experience)
Pediatrics experience within the last year
BLS
PALS
Chest Tube Maintenance

Preferred

1-3 years of pediatric patient experience preferred

Schedule

Every other weekend commitment
Shift pattern includes Saturday/Sunday and Friday/Saturday coverage

Float Scope

May float to PICU to take step-down patients
May be assigned to Labor and Delivery Recovery Post-Partum for the care of healthy newborns
Adult care support as techs may also be needed

Unit Details

Unit secretary and nurse externs per diem
Documentation system: Meditech
Equipment includes Baxter Pumps, Medfusion Pumps, and Medtronic Vital Sync Remote Surveillance System
Advanced skill needed: Chest Tube Maintenance
Procedures performed on unit include Blood Transfusion Administration, Nasogastric Tube placement, and IV placement

Ultrasound available for PIV placement
Portable Pulse Ox
Preference-based scheduling

Pediatric Security ID Bands
Pediatric Playroom
Dedicated Pediatric Respiratory Therapist

Navy Blue Scrubs
