RN - L&D

Overview

Travel RN assignment in Richmond, Virginia.
Contract length: 13 weeks.
Unit: L&D.
Unit setting: 2nd floor, The Women’s Hospital.
Unit size: 16 LDR, 3 OR, 3 Triage, 3 RR.
Hours per week: 36.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Virginia.
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
Labor and Delivery (2 years of experience).
Labor and Delivery experience within the last year.
Ability to interpret fetal heart rate strips.
ACLS.
AWHONN.
BLS.
NRP.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience at facilities with more than 3000 births per year.

Unit Details

Typical procedures include labor, delivery, recovery, triage, antepartum, and circulating for C-section.
1st hour baby care is performed, excluding admission assessment, eyes and thighs.
Breastfeeding assistance is part of the role.
AWHONN ratios are the goal; assignments may be 1:1, 2:1, or 3:1 for low acuity.
In-house coverage includes 24-7 Hospitalist and Midwife coverage, Anesthesia, and Neonatologist.
