MS/Tele

Overview

Travel/Contract role in Batavia, New York
Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:00
36 hours per week
Contract length: 13 weeks
34-bed unit
Staffing ratio: 1:9 on all shifts
Float required to another med/surg unit
Weekend coverage: every other weekend or 4 weekend shifts per month
Locals are not accepted; candidate must live more than 75 miles away
Unit accepts first-time travelers

Role Details

MS/Tele unit caring for surgical, general surgery, and medical patients
Unit sees hip, knee, and shoulder replacements, appendectomies, exploratory laparotomies, hernias, and patients requiring telemetry
Unit also takes patients with small bowel obstruction because it has wall suction
Care model is 1 RN, 1 LPN, and 1 PCT per 9 patients
Modified teams are used when full teams are not available

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in New York
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Med Surg / Telemetry (1 year of experience)
Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
BLS issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS
Experience with Epic

Preferred Qualifications

Previous charge experience

Scrubs: any combination of navy blue and/or white
