MS/Tele Registered Nurse

Overview

Travel/Contract role in Rochester, New York
Alternating 7a-7p and 7p-7a shifts
13-week contract
Local candidates are not accepted; must live more than 75 miles away
Patient population includes complex care medicine, ortho overflow, and complex long-term patients
Unit requires handling a 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio for MedSurg
Float required
Every other weekend

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in New York
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Med Surg / Telemetry (1 year of experience)
Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS
Experience in Charge roles
Experience with Epic

Skills / Clinical Experience

MS/Tele and telemetry monitoring on the unit
Use of Rapid Response/Code teams
Pacemakers: temporary and permanent
Feeding tube care and management
Blood product administration
Central line care/management
Phlebotomy
Peripheral line care/management
PICC line management
Starting IVs
Heparin protocols
Ortho trauma
Total joint replacements
Surgical drains
High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
Nasal cannula
Oxygen face masks
Portable oxygen tank
Tracheostomy management
Isolation precautions
Wound care/Wound Vac
