Position Summary
The eICU center nurse is a member of a collaborative care team who is responsible for providing tele-nursing care to a diverse population of critically ill adults across multiple ICUs at various hospitals. This person serves as a patient advocate, and exhibits humane, compassionate ethical care. Possesses required knowledge and skills for clinical, decision support, evidence-based care, prevention and proactive continuous monitoring. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in Nursing
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 5 years of recent experience as a staff nurse in the specialty field of adult critical care.
Evidence of ability to be a team player. Proficiency with Windows-based computer applications
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Recent ICU charge nurse and/or preceptor experience.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of current State of Texas license for Registered Nurse
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Current CCRN, CSC, and/or CNRN certifications
REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR):
Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
AHA ACLS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role.
