Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiovascular ICU
Location: Great Falls, MT
Duration: 13-Week Contract
Shift: Days (0700–1900) | 36 Hours Per Week
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable CVICU Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in Great Falls, MT. This role is designed for a critical care expert who thrives in a high-acuity environment, specifically managing patients recovering from complex cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries. You will be a vital part of a multidisciplinary team, providing life-sustaining care to patients who require constant, vigilant monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
Critical Care Management: Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients, including those recovering from CABG, valve replacements, and other major cardiac procedures.
Advanced Monitoring: Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data (Arterial lines, CVP) and EKG rhythms; recognize and respond immediately to subtle clinical changes.
Vasoactive Drips & Ventilation: Titrate complex IV medications (vasopressors, antiarrhythmics, sedatives) and manage mechanical ventilation and respiratory support.
Device Management: Manage specialized equipment such as chest tubes, temporary pacemakers, and potentially advanced cardiac support devices (IABP/Impella/CRRT).
Patient Advocacy: Act as a clinical leader at the bedside, coordinating with surgeons, cardiologists, and respiratory therapists to execute individualized care plans.
Documentation: Maintain precise, real-time electronic medical records (EMR) in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of recent CVICU experience in a high-acuity hospital setting.
Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license for the State of Montana or an active Compact/Multistate license.
Certifications (Required):
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
BLS/BCLS (Basic Life Support)
Skills: Proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and recovery of post-op open-heart patients.
Travel Readiness: Ability to hit the ground running in a new facility with minimal orientation.
